A business that remembers

Most businesses forget. Context lives in inboxes and memory, and it leaks when the week gets busy. A memory layer keeps what matters in one place.

In brief
  • Most of what a business knows lives in scattered messages and individual memory.
  • A memory layer holds the context that usually leaks: who a client is, what was decided, and why.
  • Saga is our name for that layer, a system that gives a business memory and, with it, momentum.
01

Forgetting is expensive

Most of what a business knows lives in scattered messages and individual memory. It is fragile, hard to search, and easily lost when the week gets busy.

Every time that context has to be rebuilt, the business pays for the same knowledge twice.

Every time that context has to be rebuilt, the business pays for the same knowledge twice.

The loss is rarely dramatic. It shows up as a client being asked something they already answered, or a decision being remade because nobody could find why it was settled the first time.

02

Memory is different from storage

Most businesses have plenty of storage. Drives, threads, folders, and archives hold nearly everything that ever happened.

Storage answers "is it saved somewhere." Memory answers "what do we know about this client, and why did we decide that." The second question is the one that actually comes up, and almost no tool is organised around it.

A search box over an archive is not memory. It requires you to already know what you are looking for, which is precisely the thing that has been forgotten.

03

Memory becomes momentum

A memory layer holds the context that usually leaks: who a client is, what was decided, and why. When that is kept in one place, work picks up where it left off instead of starting over.

Saga is our name for that layer, a system that gives a business memory and, with it, momentum.

The compounding is the point. A business that remembers gets faster at the things it has done before, which is most things.
