Thornmere

A college site that can be checked.

The idea

Most college websites are built to impress. The people who use them are trying to verify.

Thornmere asks what an institutional site becomes when verification is the design brief: eleven programmes filterable in one step, a fixed set of facts on every programme page, placement figures per programme and per year with the office that confirmed them, and an accreditation hub that holds the records, the grievance route and the accessibility statement in one place, readable without a login.

What it proved

An institutional site concept where the information a family needs is structured, dated and findable, and where nothing is shown that could not be checked.

For an institution, trust is an information architecture problem before it is a visual one.
